Es war ein warmer Spätsommertag 1980, als Marco Warmuth im Herzen Sachsens das Licht der Welt erblickte. Mit 14 Jahren kaufte er seine erste Kamera von seinem Jugendweihegeld. Nach seinem Abitur ging er zur Bundeswehr und in Anschluß daran machte er eine Ausbildung zum Mediengestalter. Nun folgte ein Kommunikationsdesign-Studium in Dessau und an der HfKuD Burg Giebichenstein in Halle. In der Fotoklasse von Ute Mahler und Vincent Kohlbecher machte er an der HAW Hamburg seinen Master in Fotografie. Bereits während des Studiums arbeitete er als freiberuflicher Fotograf und assistierte in Halle, Hamburg und Berlin. Seit einigen Jahren lehrt er Grundlagen der Fotografie an der UDK Berlin und der HfKuD Burg Giebichenstein in Halle. Heute lebt und arbeitet er in Leipzig, fährt gern Motorrad, darf beim Basketball nur noch zusehen und mag Schokoladeneis.

It was a sunny and clear indian summer day in the heart of Saxony back in late August of 1980 when Marco Warmuth came into the world. At the age of 14 he bought his very first camera with the money he gathered from his youth initiation ceremony. Time flew by and after he graduated from High School he did his military service with the german armed forces followed by an apprenticeship as a media designer. As if that weren't enough he educated himself further with a study in the specialty communication design in Dessau and at the University of Art and Design Burg Giebichenstein in Halle/Saale. As a student of Ute Mahler and Vincent Kohlbecher he reached his Masters degree in photography at the HAW in Hamburg and Berlin. For a couple years now he follows his mentors footsteps and teaches the fundamentals of his art at the University of Arts in Berlin and at the University of Halle. These days Marco lives and works in Leipzig. He loves to ride his motorcycle. Due to some injuries he is forced to only watch basketball but life has it upsides, now there is more time for chocolate ice-cream.
